I Bike Budapest – join in with MOL Bubi
Join the I Bike Budapest Parade with MOL Bubi. On Saturday, 20 April, public bike rentals starting after 14:00 and ending by 19:00 are free of charge for monthly and annual MOL Bubi pass holders even after 30 minutes.
The I Bike Budapest cycling event and parade will take place again this year on Saturday, 20 April 2024. Organised by the Hungarian Cyclists’ Club, the parade is expected to start at 15:00 from Népliget, Soó Miksa sétány and continue via Üllői út-Népliget overpass-Üllői út-Ferenc körút-Petőfi híd-Budai alsó rakpart-Döbrentei tér-Attila út-Alagút utca-Castle Tunnel-Clark Ádám tér-Chain Bridge-József Attila utca-Andrássy út-Heroes’ Square-Olof Palme sétány-City Park, Napozórét.
Monthly and annual MOL Bubi pass holders can use public bikes free of charge after 14:00, even after the 30-minute free period, without being charged the 40 HUF per minute fee. MOL Bubi bikes can be used during the entire parade without paying any extra usage fee, provided that the bike is returned by 19:00 at the latest. At the end of the day, BKK cancels the amount from the use of the bicycle for more than 30 minutes, so that no charge is made to the customer's bankcard.
BKK asks Bubi-bikers to:
- arrive at the meeting point at Népliget with a MOL Bubi bike
- return the bicycles at the bike station, as a 5,000 HUF service fee will be charged for bicycles locked at an off-station location
- if possible, those arriving with a MOL Bubi should also leave with one, so that the stations are not left empty and the majority of the more than 2,400 public bikes are returned to the 208 pick-up points in the city, thus helping to distribute bikes.
