MOL Bubi is a public transport service by BKK, which offers a quick and eco-friendly travel option in urban transport with 24/7 availability. We created MOL Bubi in 2014 to offer a fast, efficient and sustainable mobility alternative in Budapest. MOL Bubi has become an integral part of city transport in the past few years, and it can also be easily combined with other modes of public transport.
The public bicycle-sharing system has 222 stations and 168 Mobi-points in District 6 in Pest, with a total of xxxx bicycles available to users. However, MOL Bubi is much more than just that. It includes the entire public road network in the service area, the BudapestGO app, and customer service available 18 hours a day. We continuously ensure that you have access to bicycles in good condition at a location near you.
By 2021, MOL Bubi's service had been revamped: the bikes, infrastructure and pricing had all been updated. The improvements proved to be a real success story: the number of trips increased five to eight times compared to the first few years. Bubi has remained extremely popular ever since and has become an integral part of Budapest's transport system. Over the past four and a half years, you have chosen green bikes for 14 million trips, meaning that you have opted for greener transport more than 14 million times. You have cycled 28 million kilometres in Budapest, making it impossible to imagine transportation in the capital without MOL Bubi. Thank you for riding with us!
The new Bubi system is planned to provide at least 5,000 brand new bikes, of which at least 1,000 will be electric. The network will also be expanded: it will cover all important transport hubs with at least 30,000 trips, including all metro stations. This means it will reach Örs vezér tere, Kőbánya-Kispest, Újpest-városkapu, the József Attila housing estate, Angyalföld, Zugló and Őrmező. The introduction of the new Bubi fleet will not only represent a technological renewal, but also a new level of mobility culture in the city: bicycles will also be available for pick-up and drop-off at Mobi-points.
